Types of Work Permits in Ukraine
There are several kinds of work permits in Ukraine. The right one depends on your job type, employer, and how long you plan to stay.
| Type | Who it’s for |
|---|---|
| Type D Visa | Issued for long-term employment, valid for up to 1 year, extendable |
| Type B (Transit Visa) | Up to 15 days (Single or Double Entry) |
| Work Permit | Employer applies for the permit on your behalf. Valid up to 1–3 years. |
| TRC | Allows legal stay, bank access, rental agreement, and re-entry. |
TRC & Residency Options
Once your work permit is approved and you arrive in Ukraine with a D-type visa, you can apply for a Temporary Residence Card (TRC). This card acts like your local ID and lets you:
- Open a bank account
- Rent a flat or room
- Travel in/out of Ukraine freely
- Register your address and live legally
